Project Management

We have a system called “Project 101” in which we gather a group of Stakeholders to give us input. By forming this group from the beginning, we are assured of building a relationship where questions can be answered before they become issues.

Each group formed consists of 1 or 2 people from each affected department including Project Liaison, Department/Discipline Representatives, Environmental Services, Construction, Security, Plant Services, and Infectious Disease Control. By forming this group from the beginning, we are assured of building a relationship where questions can be answered before they become issues.  Many of these same people will be in the FF&E meetings that will occur weekly; however many won’t, and this is our opportunity to connect.  Believing firmly that people support what they help to create, we establish commitment from the beginning, where we will address all concerns, and that we will design a project that will have the input and blessing of all departments concerned.

“They were wonderful at creating the scheme, staying on our timeline, and completing our new hospital space within budget. We get constant raves about the artwork.”

~ Leslie Gann-Exner, North Colorado Medical Center, Greeley, CO

We glean much information from the department representatives regarding the demographics of their patient population.  We talk about age, state of health, and specific needs in each department before starting the design process.  Knowing that, we begin to create art schemes that reflect the departments, and, at the same time, are incorporated into the theme we will establish to encompass our clients Mission, Vision, and Culture.

At this point, we will show various images and styles to the Stakeholders that will reflect a direction we plan to go for the design.  The opportunity to give their input on the art examples enable the Stakeholders to feel heard and valued.

Finally we will complete with them a design that will reflect the demographics of the facility.  This process creates ownership and pride in their departments.

During this process, we will have established a project timeline for our clients that will reflect the above process in order to estimate and track the progress of the project.
